We are a community in Carnegie. Whether you need a hand or want to lend one, our neighbors are here to help.
Neighborhood Programs
-
Hello Neighbor Program
Our Hello Neighbor program pairs older residents and residents with disabilities with nearby neighbors who volunteer to assist them with snow or leaf removal on their sidewalks and walkways.
Along with fostering stronger community relationships and relieving some of the stress that comes from changing weather, the Hello Neighbor program make our sidewalks safer for those who are outside during the cooling weather – like postal carriers, firefighters, police officers, and other neighbors.
Volunteers can also sign on to help with additional yard work to help keep out streets and neighborhoods beautiful.

Friends of the Block
Friends of the Block is a litter control program. Volunteers/teams adopt designated routes throughout Carnegie and organize clean-up events to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming neighborhoods for all residents and visitors.
Team members develop familiarity and a sense of ownership over their routes and assist CCDC board members to identify neighborhood quality of life issues.
Individual volunteers (smaller areas) or volunteer teams (larger areas) coordinate their own outings/events, registering events in advance and reporting after each event.
